Bring Your Smile Up to Par With a New Crown or Bridge

If you have a broken tooth, a missing tooth, or a tooth that was diseased and has been repaired with a root canal, Dr. Fields can place a crown or bridge to put your smile back in order.

We’ll use some of the latest equipment, including digital X-rays and digital impressions with our 3Shape TRIOS scanner. This means your treatment will be as comfortable as possible. You’ll have less exposure to radiation and no messy goop in your mouth like traditional impressions require.

You can renew your smile in many ways with a crown or bridge:

  • Single Crown for Tooth Repair – Our lab partner will make a custom crown that fits over your damaged tooth to strengthen it and help prevent further problems with the tooth. It will look natural and blend in beautifully with the rest of your smile.
  • Standard Fixed Bridge – This type of bridge will replace one or more missing teeth. It contains crowns on either end, which anchor to your other teeth. One or more artificial teeth in the middle fill the gap in your smile.
  • Implant-Supported Crown – This combination is the preferred way to replace a single missing tooth. We’ll place a dental implant where your tooth was, then anchor a crown to it to restore your smile and your chewing capacity. The implant preserves the bone in your jaw.
  • Implant-Supported Bridge – If you are missing several teeth in a row, this type of bridge will work well. It will be attached to at least two implants which have been placed in your jawbone, rather than attaching to your other teeth. With implants, you won’t suffer bone loss in your jaw.

Common Questions About Dental Crowns and Bridges
How long do dental crowns and bridges last?

The exact lifetime you can expect from your new crown or bridge will depend on several factors, including the material used to construct the restoration, its location in your mouth, and your oral hygiene habits. In general, however, you can expect your crown or bridge to last at least five to seven years.

How much do dental crowns and bridges cost?

The cost for crowns and bridges can vary quite a bit depending on how they are used. It is not possible to give you an accurate idea of the cost of your treatment without first performing an exam and taking a set of X-rays. Afterward, we can detail the estimated cost for your dental work so you can decide on a course of treatment.

Will insurance cover dental crowns and bridges?

Many dental insurance plans will cover at least a portion of your treatment with crowns or bridges. We encourage you to check with your carrier to find out exactly what is and is not covered. We’ll work with your insurance company to maximize your benefits and reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, making your treatment as affordable as possible.
